Scofield...again

Well if you haven't noticed by now, Scofield is pretty much all we do on the weekends these days. This weekend was a lot of fun! This time it was just me, Zac, Sherry, Gordy and Doogie. Usually people come down with us, but this weekend was just the five of us and it was really nice! On Saturday, my parents came down in the morning for the day, and the weather was beautiful so Zac and I took them on the long ride into town. Zac and my dad rode the T-Rex. They were always SO far ahead of us because Zac knows how to handle the big rocks and is a major speed demon, so naturally, they smoked us the whole way. So they rode the T-Rex and we took the Grizz. And let me say that I have gotten so much better at riding that thing! Even though it kills my thumb to drive that long, I'm getting the hang of it. This trip I got it up to 20 mph up the "face", which is scary driving up because there are so many rocks and uneven spots so I feel like I'm going to roll off the mountain. (Don't make fun, baby steps right?) But when we got on the straight dirt road I got a little more daring...I averaged 35-40 mph, and once I mustered up the courage we got up to 50 mph! My mom screamed a time or two and we had bugs smashing into our shoulders and cheeks but it was a great ride! We got back to camp around 2 so we barbecued up so hamburgers and ate on the deck. The rest of the day was really relaxing, reading and napping. Scofield is the best medicine for needing a break from life!
