Flaming Gorge

Last weekend we drove up to Flaming Gorge with Afs and Tyler. We had so much fun, we haven't been boating forever! We camped in a huge six man tent with them in a camp ground with their family. The weather was really nice up there. The nights weren't too cold, but the day was pretty hot. Luckily Tyler has a boat (The 'Green Hornet') so we were able to cool off on the lake. The water was so freezing, probably hitting below zero! Just kidding but it was numbing. After we went on a ride and pulled Tyler's brother so he could wake board we set out for fishing. We pulled to shore to gather our chairs so we could fish in the middle of the lake, and while we (well they) were packing up I decided to cast a line. Not even 30 seconds went by and I caught a fish! I can't remember what it was but it poked me with it's spiky fins. After that catch, we set out for the real fishing spot. Tyler and the rest of his family were using power bait, and I was using worms that were a day old and had been baked in the sun, it was disgusting! But hey I knew it worked because thats how I caught my first fish, apparently they aren't picky. We weren't having much luck the first while, no one really had any bites. But then Tyler got a hit. He reeled it in and it was a big one! Unfortunately when he went to put it in the basket the fish attempted and escape and wriggled away from Tyler and made it back into the water. (Sorry Tyler). Shortly after that happened I got a bite and I reeled it in. The fish wasn't even close to as big as Tyler's but it was good enough! When we got back to shore I had the great pleasure of gutting my fishy. It was quite the experience but I enjoyed it! We had a great weekend, thanks Afs and Tyler for letting us come!
