Moab Trip

This Thanksgiving weekend we took our traditional four wheeling trip to Moab. We had quite the crew again this year. It consisted of Sherry, Gordy, us, Brant, Lindsay, the Butterfield family, Hugh's brother and his wife, and then Aaron and Kristin met up with us that evening. We had such a good time! The weather turned out to be amazing! Only a little bit of rain in the mornings when we were still sleeping so it made the riding great, no dust. We left Draper at 8 Friday morning and got to Moab around 12:30ish. About an hour from Moab we got pulled over for speeding...oopsy. Brant and Lindsay had some left over pumpkin pie that they brought along and we decided to try and bribe the cop; pumpkin pie for a warning. Well, it didn't work. We still got the ticket which sucks but we didn't let it put a damper on the trip! So we kept on driving...at a slower pace of course. Finally we arrived in Moab but before we went to the hotel we all stopped, unloaded the four wheelers and road the Gemini Bridge trails which is always really pretty. After a couple of hours riding we headed back to the cars to be on our way to the hotel. Once we got settled in we went to dinner at the always delicious Moab Diner. When we got back to our hotel room a few of us gathered in Sherry and Gordo's room and played a few rounds of Speed Uno! Always a fun game! The next morning we met at breakfast and headed out for another day of fun! We went to Kane Creek which is probably the best trail we've found so far! You start out in the valley on dirt then make your way to the rocks and after that you make your way through the river bottoms where we're on dirt then back into the river and rocks! Such a blast! Then we loaded back up and went over to another trail called Fins and Things. It started out great, we do this trail every year. After about 30 minutes of riding we got to a steep hill that went down and then went back up pretty quick. Sherry and Gordy went first, then Zac and I followed. Brant and Lindsay were next and something went wrong and the four wheeler tumbled on top of them! It was so scary I've never seen anything like it! Brant was banged up pretty good and went unconscious for a minute, and poor Linds had a bloody nose and was saying her back hurt. Luckily there was a jeep close behind us and we managed to get them into the Jeep and to the road where the ambulance met us. To sum everything up Brant had some cuts and bruises but no major injuries and Lindsay came out with a fractured pelvis! They are such troopers and we're so glad that it wasn't worse! We hope Lindsay has a quick and hopefully a comfortable healing process!
