Preparing for the first Christmas in Scofield, Sherry bought some lights to put on the cabin and a beautiful pine tree that you can see great from inside the cabin. Being a pine tree in the mountains, it was extremely high. What to do? Sherry and Gordy decided to tape a marshmellow roaster stick, so a long extendo pole and it worked! We weren't able to stay long enough to see it in the dark, but it still looked really cool!

Gordy stuck a tennis ball in the marshmellow stick thing and Doogie wasn't having any of that.
Afs and Tyler came up this weekend, Tyler was hunting for spike elk. So him and Zac woke up early Saturday morning witht their orange and camo and didn't come back until about 3pm. So while the boys were out, we watched French Kiss, made french toast and just relaxed! They still were out hunting so we took the Rhino for a fifteen minute ride. I drove it up the cut and Afs drove it for the first time up top. It was a lot of fun, even though Afs kept hugging the ride side of the trail running me into all the tree's and bushes. The boys got back to camp a couple minutes after we had gotten back from our ride. Tyler wasn't able to get a shot at anything, so while we were pulling our trailor out he stood with his gun hoping to see something at the pond.
Hoping to see something..
Looks like he got a little too excited...haha just kidding!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!
The return of the Trailor
Last week we had been debating whether to bring our trailor back this last weekend or next weekend. With the news warning everyone about the big storm that was supposed to hit, we decided we should probably bring it back up to Draper. So we hooked it up, and pulled it out of our spot. Surprisingly it came out very easily. At one point there were quakies not even one inch from the sides of the trailor, but that was the only obstacle and it made it with no problems. But it was a sad moment! Now that our trailor is out, it's official. Winter is coming. Which also means that we get to occupy the cabin loft again!

Fall is here!
I can't believe how fast this summer has gone! Last winter took way too long to finally leave and this summer seemed to go away too quickly. But it has been a good one for us! We had a family reunion in Island Park, we learned Speed Uno and try to play it every time we get a group together, we added a trailor and a truck to our family, we've spent many weekends down in Scofield building things and being lazy, and last but not least, we've worked like crazy. Even though I have been dreading this cold weather that we've been having, going to Scofield this weekend has made me excited for the fall. The leaves are SO beautiful down there! It was trying to snow all weekend, and I was actually hoping that it would! Now I'm looking forward to carving pumpkins, hot chocolate, Halloween parties, Thanksgiving, and Christmas cookies! Happy Fall!

Grandpa Mack turns 83!
Grandpa Mack had his birthday on the 27th so I called him that morning to wish him a Happy Birthday! We were having a family party for him the next day, so for his gift he said he wants some CD's, the round one's he says. So I went to the store and bought him a Johnny Cash Classic cd. The next day we all met at my cousin Shannon's house for the party and it was so much fun! We had tons of food. French dip, queso (thanks to Mom and the family recipe), salsa, chips, pasta salad, potato salad, brownies, pudding, and of course birthday cake! After everyone grubbed, we all made our way to the deck and sang happy birthday to Gramps then he began to open presents. Turns out he told everyone, "I want some cd's for my car. You know, the round one's." So he ended up getting SO many cd's! Haha! Amazingly he only got two of the same singers. He got Johnny Cash, Waylin Jennings, Dean Martin, and a couple others that I've never heard of. He also got a John Wayne dvd that contains 20 of his classic movies! It was a great party, and so good to see my extended family! We never see eachother except for holidays, so it was fun to be with them!
Happy Birthday Grandpa!
What is it with men and football? The party is outside!
